Why is this boa so much more expensive than a normal one?

It is a protected species with restricted trade, so legal captive-bred animals with paperwork are limited in number and priced accordingly.

Is it as calm as a common boa?

Often a bit more defensive, especially when young. Many settle well with consistent handling, but do not assume it will be as easy-going.

How big does it get?

A large heavy boa, commonly around two and a half metres, so it needs a big adult enclosure and two hands to handle.
