Common questions
Is it dangerous to touch?
Captive-bred ones carry no meaningful toxin, since they get it from wild prey they never eat here. We still handle them as little as possible and wash our hands.
Will I actually see it, or will it hide all day?
This is one of the boldest dart frogs and it is active in daylight, so it is a good choice if you want a frog you can watch.
How many can I put in one tank?
One pair, or one male with one female, is safest. Adult females often fight each other, so a group needs a large, well-planted tank and close watching.
What is the monthly running cost?
Food is cheap once your cultures are going, roughly a couple of hundred baht a month, plus the electricity for the lights and misting.
